When you eat with the Toups family, it’s an experience. They’ve been in Louisiana for over 300 years, so they’ve developed an incredible relationship with the food and the land. Inspired by these deep-rooted Louisiana family traditions, Isaac and Amanda opened Toups’ Meatery restaurant in the Spring of 2012 to share that unique eating experience with the food-loving people of New Orleans.
Born and raised in Rayne, Louisiana, Chef Isaac comes from a large family that lives to eat. After moving to New Orleans, Isaac made his entry into food as a cook at Emeril’s Delmonico and spent the following decade within Emeril’s Restaurant Group fine tuning his craft. Isaac was awarded Times-Picayune Chef to Watch 2010.
When he’s not in the kitchen, you can find him throwing tomahawks in his backyard.
Amanda’s background is in wine and wine education. She managed W.I.N.O. for the Institute’s first four years and during her time there received substantial wine training through their education program including an Advanced Certification through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust and the title of French Wine Scholar.
Larry is a native New Orleanian who grew up surrounded by a family in food service and has worked in every aspect of the restaurant industry for over 15 years. Larry was also honored to have received Maitre’d of the year from New Orleans Magazine in 2010.
